  • MP3 Players

MP3 players are the devices where an MPEG digital file can be played. Known officially as “MPEG-1, layer 3” it uses digital technology and special codecs to encrypt sound into a compressed file. MPEG stands for Motion Pictures Experts Group which was formed to develop techniques on digital video. Since most videos also involve audio, MP3 was created  to address that area. An MP3 has the characteristic of reducing audio files of up to 90% compared to other mediums using psychoacoustic modelling. That’s what made it a breakthrough,– manufacturers then were given the medium to make music gadgets through such compact players that can carry very large memory despite the tiny size.***

    *Types of MP3 Players

    • a. Hard-Drive Based

This type of MP3 players are so named because of the large,– reaching up to ten Gigabytes or more– memory that it can hold. The only weakness of this type is that, it tends to be heavier and larger than other MP3 manufacturers. However, a lot of individuals still opt to buy this type because the bigger memory enables them to save all their music preferences. But if you are someone on-the-go, this type might not be very practical at all because the large drive easily skips during fast movement. You can otherwise try smaller and more compact designs of MP3 to best serve your active lifestyle.***

    • b. Flash Drive

Flash Drive is the type of MP3 player that never skips and contain no moving parts. This is the type most favourable to athletes because whatever movement they do, this MP3 type will not get damaged easily. This type can store from ten up to five hundred seventy songs. Due to its low capacity and lack of movable parts, batteries of this type will last longer. Also players of this type usually uses disposable batteries enabling users to replace with  new  batteries in the event it runs out during playback time.***

    *Advantages of MP3’s
The first advantage of an MP3 is obviously its small size. Handy is what they term for this devices’ mobility during music playback time. The second advantage would be its ability to play any kind of song you want with just a few press of the finger. Most MP3 players come with a circular button where you can select songs by pressing with a circular motion. Third, is the large volume of music files you can store despite its small size. There are models now that support thousands of songs making the MP3 device a virtual song collector with massive files of any type of song genres users most prefer.***

    *Development

MP4- Like most shortened words in hi-tech terminology, MP4 is also a short term for MPEG (Motion Pictures Experts Group) -4. It was designed to incorporate every other feature of MPEG files that were previously developed or studied. The major difference of the two is that an MP4 can now hold video files while MP3 was more focused on audio files. The format of MP4 enables programmers to easily use it on websites and other different applications. Since most people are Internet users, downloading movie and music files from the Internet was easier for them when using the MP4. This version is regarded as the golden standard for all other types of media streaming devices.***
